Hot on the heels of successful regional events in WA and SA, a new chapter for the NSW/ACT region has been formed within PIANC A-NZ, with a successful inaugural meeting held in June.
Welcome aboard to new Chapter Chair Matt Batman, (pictured below on left) Senior Asset & Development Manager at the Port Authority of NSW, and Deputy Chair Kenan Aldemir, (below on right) principal maritime engineer at Mott MacDonald.
Welcome also to our other new chapter committee members who have generously offered their time for the building of PIANC in NSW and supporting its technical knowledge and networking services to our professional community. They are: Catherine Blaine, Ed Couriel, David Dack, Goran Dimovski (COPEP Rep), Shahab Hosseini, Rhys Lewis, Michael Sanders, and Dimitrios Shortland.
Young Professional reps are Shane Freeman (Lead), and Bart Gaik (Deputy). The Committee will be mentored by PIANC A-NZ Board members Katrina Dodd and Greg Britton.
The Chapter is already set to organise a Young Professional Event before the Coasts and Ports conference in Hobart in September, and aims to coordinate a technical information event later in the year.
