Sustainability Strategy
PIAnC AU-NZ SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY & REPORTS
During 2021, PIANC AU-NZ identified eight of the seventeen UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as being directly relevant to its purpose:
SDG 4 Quality Education
SDG 5 Gender Equality
SDG 9 Industry Innovation and Infrastructure
SDG 10 Reduced Inequalities
SDG 13 Climate Action
SDG 14 Life Below Water
SDG 15 Life on Land
SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
In November 2021, the PIANC AU-NZ Board of Directors identified and prioritised the top ten material issues that it sees PIANC as having the ability to influence most strongly.
Based on the prioritised issues, 20 individual targets were set over a five-year timeframe, from 2022 to 2026, to enable PIANC AU-NZ to commit to and demonstrate improvement year on year.
The targets are based on four key themes: 1. Resilience 2. Education 3. Diversity and Inclusion and 4. SDG Communications. The targets have been incorporated into PIANC AU-NZ’s Sustainability Strategy.
