Has your organisation recently implemented a nature-based solution to a port or navigation project? Does the design work with nature to deliver a range of benefits? Did you collaborate with stakeholders in identifying the selected option?
At next year’s 35th PIANC World Congress in Cape Town, South Africa, the 3rd PIANC Working-with-Nature Award will be granted to a navigation project that applies nature-based solutions to port or shipping infrastructure to deliver benefits for both navigation and nature.
Take the opportunity to showcase your good practice by submitting your project on the website https://www.pianc.org/award/working-with-nature-award and apply for a WwN Certificate of Recognition. Projects that receive this Certificate are automatic candidates for the next WwN Award.
But hurry! The deadline for entries is 31 January 2024.
The PIANC WwN Initiative has been in existence since 2011. In 2014, the quadrennial WwN Award went to the project ‘New Tidal Area Kreetsand’ at the tidal River Elbe close to the City of Hamburg, Germany, and in 2018 to the project ‘Middle Harbor Port of Oakland’ at San Francisco Bay, USA.
