Regional Chapters – PIANC vision for the future – beginning now!

Luke Campbell PIANC Board member responsible for regional development.

[vc_single_image image=”6604″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”]As part of our 2019 Strategic Plan the PIANC Board is working to establish and support regional chapters  – these will deliver PIANC events in their area which best meet local needs.

As well as contributing to an international body of knowledge, and sharing industry knowledge and best practice, PIANC is about bringing people in our industry together, and supporting the next generation of professionals in the industry. We hope that effective regional chapters will support and enhance all these aims and activities.

Luke Campbell is the Board member responsible overall for regional development. Luke is based in Perth and has been an active member of the local WA chapter for the past couple of years. He is excited about his new role and in fact, he says, this was the main reason that he sought a position on the PIANC board in the first place.

As Luke notes, “PIANC Australia & NZ covers a huge amount of territory across regions of Australia and New Zealand and we have members distributed across vast areas. The new strategic plan seeks to directly address this, and we are actively looking at ways to engage more frequently and consistently.”

Regions will be interlinked – with sharing of event materials and content between chapters, and, where possible, eminent speakers – international or national.

A key initiative, Luke says, that we intend implementing as soon as possible will be a consolidated calendar showing PIANC Australia / NZ events across the various regions, allowing all members to readily look ahead. Please watch out for this over the next few months.
