Wonderful news that ALL past Coasts and Ports papers are now available through Informit. Informit is an Australian scholarly and education resource platform, founded by RMIT in 1989, which is an online gateway to the largest collection of Australasian scholarly journals, books, and videos.
This free, public sharing of Coasts & Ports proceedings is the result of an agreement between Engineers Australia/ NCCOE, Engineering NZ, the NZ Coastal Society and PIANC, which was eventually formalised within the renewal of the Coasts and Ports Memorandum of Understanding between these parties.
‘This is a great step forward’ says PIANC AU-NZ Board Member and co-organiser of Coasts&Ports2022, Dr Tom Shand, ‘as these papers are basically the history of coastal and port engineering and science in Australasia over the last 50 years and making them open access will greatly increase their reach and use.’
Please be aware that Informit is for reasonably specific searching, not for browsing.
You need to a) use the Informit advanced search option https://search.informit.org/search/advanced
b) write ‘Coasts Ports’ in your selection of ‘Journal or Source Title’
c) Name of (any) author will be of great use!
Additional advice from the Chair of our most recent C&P Conference in 2023, Dr Andrew Pomeroy, is that all the Coast and Ports conference proceedings are now searchable within ‘Google scholar” https://scholar.google.com.au
If you are a regular user of Google Scholar this may be easier for you
Andrew has also provided a temporary short cut way to get to all the proceedings hosted on Informit via links on his LinkedIn post – available here.

Fifty years of Conference papers will also eventually be accessible through the Coasts & Ports website https://www.coastsandports.org when the website is updated later this year.
