YP Breakfast Brisbane – Thurs 4 June 2026

The Australian Northern Chapter of the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure has organised an exciting leadership breakfast in Brisbane. Hear from industry professionals about their career journey and meet other like­minded YPs. Open to anyone under 40 years of age working in or interested in the ports and marine industry including students.

SPEAKERS:

Andrew Catto – Global Director for Ports and Terminals, Hatch

Andrew is Hatch’s Global Director for Ports and Terminals and a senior chartered engineer with over 20 years of experience in the ports sector. He brings comprehensive expertise across the full project lifecycle, including project scoping and setup, front-end loading studies, preliminary and detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. His experience spans both major capital projects and operational support, enabling him to deliver technically sound and commercially effective solutions.

Throughout his career, Andrew has led port location assessments and developed optimised port layouts, with a strong emphasis on landside storage integration to support efficient and resilient logistics chains. His capabilities also include coordinating and delivering logistics trade-off studies, designing and implementing port and industrial facilities, and undertaking offshore modularisation and strategic analysis. He has significant experience in greenfield developments and is known for fostering collaborative, high-performing teams that deliver value-driven outcomes and positive change for clients. Andrew was in PIANC northern chapter committee from 2022-2025

 

 

Jenny Loveday – Senior Design Manager and Technical Director, KBR

Jenny Loveday is a Senior Design Manager and Technical Director with over 22 years’ experience as a Ports and Maritime Engineer, working on Defence and civil maritime infrastructure including bulk materials, containerised cargo and liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects. For the past decade, she has led KBR’s maritime design team to deliver milestone projects for Defence, including Facilities to Support Naval Operations in the North, Navy Capability Infrastructure Sub­program and Submarine Rotational Force – West. Throughout her career, Jenny has navigated a range of pivotal decisions and opportunities that have shaped her professional journey, and she enjoys reflecting on these experiences to support others as they chart their own paths in the industry.
