Dr Sam Mazaheri, Chair of our QLD/NT regional chapter, is delighted to report that in line with PIANC AU–NZ strategy aims, the chapter have this year successfully reached out to three universities in Queensland to present PIANC while delivering technical topics related to the port and maritime industry, including waterborne transportation infrastructure.
These talks were delivered as part of their approved taught courses, covering students from Year 1 to Year 4. We believe this approach can help young engineers become more aware of the port and maritime industry, understand its vital role in the transportation supply chain, and appreciate its contribution to our economy.
This can also provide young professionals with a global perspective in the early stages of their journey, helping them shape their thinking and potentially consider the port and maritime industry as a future career path.
