Further Background:
The IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change) has in recent years been active in completing new research and publishing major reports covering science, mitigation and adaptation, including: Global warming of 1.5 C (SR15, 2018), Oceans and Cryosphere (SROCC, 2019) and 6th Assessment Report (AR6, 2021).
PIANC has also been active with international working groups completing various climate related reports such as: Environmental Risk Management (WG179, 2019), Carbon Management (WG188, 2019), Resilience (TG193, 2020), Climate Change Adaptation (WG178, 2020), Ecosystem Services (WG195, 2021).
This year PIANC’s own PTGCC (Permanent Task Group on Climate Change) will be releasing an updated report on the earlier Climate Change and Navigation report (TG3, 2008). Ron Cox is a member of PTGCC and can bring audience members up to date.
