Now in its third fantastic year, the PIANC ANZ Mentoring Program provides interested members with an opportunity to gain guidance and advice in progressing their professional career through meaningful discussion with their peers.
It also provides a great opportunity for members to give back to their coastal and maritime industry colleagues through sharing professional experiences and life lessons.

This is what 2021 participants said about the program:
“I discovered my potential in my career, got exposed to new perspectives of the industry, and gained technical guidance in the field of port assets and project management.”
“Industry and work/life perspectives were greatly improved, as opposed to narrower goals that I initially stated.”
“Has given me a fresh perspective into the engineering consultancy world; into the various pathways to go down and widened my eyes to the different opportunities available.”
“Put together a plan for my career. I previously had no plan, now I have one that is clear and concise, easy to follow. And clearly sets out my goals for my career.”
“The program is extremely helpful for early-career engineers to develop their career and explore their potential. Thanks for organising. “
“Helping a young professional understand the opportunities that might lie ahead and how to achieve them.”
“I appreciated the opportunity for reflection on management / work styles that have worked for me and those that haven’t.”
“Having a professional and personal connection with someone starting out in the industry, I gained first-hand knowledge of the challenges and opportunities for young professionals in the current market.”
“This is a great way that I can give service back to the profession.”
“As a young engineer I was fortunate to receive excellent mentoring from experienced engineers that was invaluable at the time. I would like to offer the same to engineers embarking on their journey. To me this is a critical role for senior engineers to undertake.”
