PIANC (World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure) has organised an exciting series of leadership breakfasts across Australia. This one is in Perth!

Date and Time: Thursday 11 April 7am

Place: Shoe Bar & Cafe, Yagan Square, William St, Perth.

Hear from industry professional Carlos Fortuna about their career journey and meet other like-minded YPs.
Open to anyone under 40 years of age working in or interested in the ports and marine industry including students.

Born in Puerto Rico, Carlos is a Local Industry Leader and Veteran who transitioned to Australia after 12 years of service in the US Navy. While in the U.S. Navy he served as Mechanical Engineer, Nuclear Systems Welder and Special Boat Operator. He transitioned to Australia in 2009 with his family and worked in the resources and mining sector before joining the defence industry around 2015.  Passionate about macroeconomics, innovation, education, industry engagement & community support, Carlos actively engages with stakeholders to promote innovation and access to defence.  Currently on a short sabbatical, he was last at BAE Systems Australia, where he was focused on infrastructure modernisation plans while also championing initiatives to translate innovation into practical solutions for shipyard environments. He is also committee and board member to AIDN WA chapter and VESPIIA Australia.
