PIANC NZ YP Committee is pleased to invite you to a site visit of the America’s Cup infrastructure construction project hosted by the Wynyard Edge Alliance.
When: 16th October 2019 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM ( Note that the site visit will kick off at 4:00pm sharp.)

Registrations/Costs: This is a free event but numbers are limited so please register early.
Must Bring: Attendees are required to bring a hi-vis vest, to participate in the site tour.
In 2017 Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ) won the 35th America’s Cup, held in Bermuda, over defender Oracle Team USA. Following the announcement that ETNZ would be defending the Cup in New Zealand the America’s Cup 36 programme was established by the Crown and Auckland Council, in partnership with mana whenua and Emirates Team New Zealand to enable Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland and New Zealand to host the 36th America’s Cup in 2021.
The Wynyard Edge Alliance, formed by Auckland Council, the Crown, McConnell Dowell, Downer, Beca and Tonkin + Taylor is responsible for delivering the essential infrastructure to host the America’s Cup.
In June the Alliance hit a key milestone, with the operational handover of the base being used by Emirates Team New Zealand. The team is now working to complete Hobson Wharf Extension, progressing piling works for the new breakwater structures off Halsey and Wynyard Wharves, dredging for vessels berths, completing repair works on Wynyard Wharf, and establishing building platforms for the syndicate bases on Wynyard Point.
After seeing the progress first hand, we will then head to the Viaduct waterfront for drinks and networking.
